<P>These tires are expensive as snow tires go. They provide excellent snow
and ice traction, but can wear <I>very</I> quickly if driven aggressively.
One SHOtimes member described the traction as "driving on Velcro". Reported
tread life varies from 7k miles to over 20k miles.&nbsp;</TD>

<P>Installed using 1991 Volvo 740 15" steel rims. One reader reports using
Ford 15" rims (says they clear the brake hardware OK and brake cooling
seems no worse than if the 16" factory rims are installed) on his 95 SHO
auto.&nbsp; Other SHOtimers have reported problems with 15" rims.</TD>

<P>I have not used them on a SHO, but I have used them on a Taurus. These
are simply the best snow tires in the world. They are available in a 65
series and give impressive dry grip and unbelieveable snow grip. The tire
of choice on SCCA Pro Rally winter events. I have used them for four seasons
in Downeast Maine and have never been stuck. (Although two of those seasons
were in a 323 GTX AWD turbo that doesn't get stuck). Stud them if you need
to ice race your SHO :)&nbsp;</TD>

for Blizzaks. These offer better performance handling characteristics (lateral
traction and traction under acceleration) and better treadlife for aggressive

<P>The studded snows in the 225/50 size have some interesting characteristics.
Of course they are rough and noisy. They also don't look as good on the
car, IMHO, they almost have a low rider look to them, and the car is about
1/2 inch lower becuse of it. They do have very nice crisp response though
being a 50 series. The car changes direction RIGHT NOW when you turn the
wheel. I'm thinking that a 50 series is what this car really needs to make
it handle better. It makes the whole feel of the car better, without going
to a stiffer suspension.&nbsp;</TD>
