General CR&H: Some installers told me that they would
have to cut through the rear valence (right in the middle of S-H-O) ...
don't listen to such nonsense. Shop around to find a properly fitting hitch.
Note that the owners manual for the automatic SHOs ('93 to '95) state that
the car should not be used to tow, period. Do so at your own risk!

Thanks Chris Mayfield for an added warning:
I had a trailer hitch on my SHO. Unfortunately, I got rear ended. As a result of
having the hitch on the car, more damage was done than I could believe. He hit
me going 10 or 15 miles per hour, but he hit the receiver, and it in turn bent
the frame rails, Buckled the side 1/4 panels on both sides, and made the trunk
and both rear doors fit improperly. It was close to $6000 dollars in damage all
caused by a hitch. Without the hitch the only thing it would have needed was a
new bumper cover, buyer beware!

CR&H: I have the standard Drawtite Taurus 1 1/4" hitch
with removable bar/ball. It does show under the bumper but does not stick
out at all. Works real well. I have a bike carrier that connects into the
hole where the ball is usually located and it works okay providing you
use a tie-down to take out the play in the hitch.

You only have 1,000 lbs capacity with the SHO... I have hauled a 300
lb motorcycle 300+ miles with no problem.

Here's a few photos of Chris Yates' class II hitch installation. The
hitch is a 1.25" class II from U-Haul (DrawTite part number 24632, cost
usually $125). The rack is from Hollywood Engineering. Further information
on the rack can be found at http://www.1800hitchit.com

Reese

CR&H: I've had Draw Tite hitches on other cars in the
past and was pleased however I chose the Reese (Elkhart, IN) for the SHO
specifically for it's high, behind the rear bumper profile. From the rear
all you can see is the receiver. The Reese hitch (class II) cost me $185
with the tongue and ball and was easy to install. I regularly pull 1000+
pounds of trailer and motorcyle and have had no problems.
