The rules
SHOtimes is a mailing list exclusively for enthusiasts of the Ford Taurus
SHO. Discussion of any SHO-related topic is welcome. Please abide by the
following rules when participating on the SHOtimes list :
1. Stay on topic! Discussions of any type that is NOT
related to the Taurus SHO is not permitted here. Repeated engaging in
off topic conversations may result in your removal from the list. Keeping
on topic is the only way a list of this size can operate efficiently.
2. Please limit your quoting to only what is necessary
to provide context for your reply. There is NO need to quote an ENTIRE
previous message back in your reply. Usually a few lines will do, and
will make you message much more readable.
3. Please refrain from using HTML or rich text messages on the
list. Set your mail reader to post in "ASCII text" - not everyone on
the list is using the latest messaging software, and in many cases HTML/rich
text messages appear as garbage to users of older software. For similar
reasons, please also refrain from posting encoded files to the list
- instead, put them on a website and post the link. HTML and or MIME
embedded messages will be automatically rejected by the list.
4. Please be civil to the other members of the list. Personal
attacks, etc will not be tolerated. Remember, all posts to this list
are archived, so whatever you say will be preserved, and more than likely
will embarass you sometime in the future. ;-)
Controlling your subscription via the web
Subscriptions to the SHOtimes mailing list are handled via a web interface
at
http://www.team.net/mailman/listinfo/shotimes.
From the web interface (once you are subscribed - enter your email address
at the bottom and click edit options ), you may edit your profile, change
many configuration options for your subscription, select either digest mode
or non-digest mode, or unsusbscribe .
Controlling your subscription via email
TO POST A MESSAGE TO THE LIST: shotimes@autox.team.net
As of May 2002, SHOtimes is officially moving to team.net. To unsubscribe
from the topica mailing list, send a blank message to: shotimes-unsubscribe@topica.com.
Please keep in mind that you must be subscribed to a list to be
able to post to it.
What to do if you have trouble with the mailing list
If you have a problem of any type with the list, please do not send
messages to the list asking about it. The hundreds of people on
the list don't want to hear that you're not getting messages, you're changing
addresses, you want to SUBSCRIBE or SIGNOFF, etc.
Occasionally, Team.net may undergo maintenence or have a server down.
If you aren't receiving messages (and you HAD been in the past), please
wait awhile, chances are that the messages will start flowing again fairly
soon - sending a message to the list ASKING if it's down logically makes
no sense and only adds to the queue of messages that will need to be processed
once it's running again.
If people are compaining about your messages on the list having extra
garbage in them, read Fixing
your mail software to work with shotimes.
Mailing list archives
Listserv Archives
It's highly encouraged that you check the archives before posting
a question to the list to see to see if a subject has already been discussed.
You have a couple of options for archives :
ListQuest
ListQuest
is the preferred way to search the SHOtimes archives. They have a good search
engine with plenty of options, and they were also kind enough to import
all the previously available archives. This currently is the most complete
set of archives available for SHOtimes.
Online Archives
SHOtimes has an archive online at
http://www.team.net/pipermail/shotimes/ - you may search for messages
using keywords, or simply browse the messages via the web interface. You
don't even have to be logged in to read messages using this method.
